Writing technique for RFP (Request for Proposal)
A while back, a potential client provided me with some general details of the writing work he wanted me to do for his firm. Then he asked me to send him a proposal.
Proposal?! I panicked as I tried to confirm with him what he meant by that since I had never done one before, at least not as a freelancer.
I must've not really wanted to pursue this opportunity since I didn't bother to do research or follow up with the company after submitting a contract instead of a proposal. A little time passed, I came across an article on writing RFPs (Request for Proposal). Ding! The light bulb went on. This guy verbally gave me his RFP and wanted a written response.
When a firm requires a project to be completed by a contractor or outside source, they write a RFP. This is a formal document describing the project, how the contract companies should respond, how the proposals will be reviewed, and contact information. Often, the company documents the submission guidelines to make it easier for them to compare responses. There are no specific standards or guidelines for creating the RFP, but government agencies usually strict standards they follow when conducting the proposal process.
Outside companies read the RFP and write a proposal (a bid) explaining how they can best offers and meet those needs. When writing the proposal, the company should closely follow the guidelines established in the RFP to avoid being removed from consideration for the potential project.
A typical proposal contains:
• Executive summary - summary of the entire proposal
• Statement of need - why project is necessary
• Project description - How project will be implemented and evaluated
• Organization information
• Project schedule
• Budget
• Conclusion
My situation was an informal version of all this. The client gave me a high level overview of what I might do for him. If I knew then what I know now, I would've written up a description of the client's needs and how I would complete the work in meeting those needs.
Small businesses would likely do a proposal in between the one I got and the complex government required ones. Most small businesses will be prompted to write a proposal when approaching a client. The client may ask you to submit a proposal outlining what you can do for them. In this case, write a proposal including the elements of a typical proposal and keep it short and to the point especially if the client is not a large company.
There are examples of RFPs and responses peppered throughout the Web, but which one you can learn from depends on the type of work involved. A proposal can be two pages or as big as a book. Rely on your favorite search engine and do the research to create an unbeatable proposal.

IMPORTANCE OF CASH CONTROL
Cash is a vital component of any profit-generating organization. An organization's assets generate revenue, which in turn generates cash inflows. These cash inflows are used for several purposes: to pay creditors, compensate employees, reward shareholders, provide asset replacement, and provide for growth.Fortunately, there are ways management can safeguard the cash generated by its organization. Challenging Times Call For Creative Hiring Solution: Advantages of Outsourcing
All businesses need reliable, motivated, cost-friendly help. When belts need tightening, company leaders look for ways to trim every aspect of the budget without sacrificing quality products and services. If you have a bookkeeper on your premises who is only needed five hours per week, you may be paying her for additional hours just to keep her. Besides her salary, you may be paying for benefits, office space and office equipment. If you were to outsource your bookkeeping needs, you can choose to only buy the services you need each month. Increasingly, one of the most cost effective ways to do so is to outsource a portion of your jobs to contractors outside of your company.Instead, look for a company that prides itself on professional, personalized service and requires something of its candidates. The best sites demand that their candidates pay a membership fee and have a minimum number of years' experience in their field of expertise.
It often starts as a way to save money, but outsourcing helps companies in other ways. For example, in a recent Accenture survey of more than 800 health, manufacturing, retail and travel executives in the US and Europe, 86% said outsourcing gives them more control over business results in a variety of critical areas, the most important being the ability to plan. While cost-cutting is among these key areas, the executives also reported equal levels of control in reliability, cost variability improvements and effective implementation of ideas.

What can a Virtual Assistant do for you?
Other outsourced tasks may include networking, managing affiliates, research, web development, email marketing, bookkeeping and much more... Before hiring, verify that you're absolutely sure about what you want to accomplish. Perfect your rules and the processes of your work before introducing a VA into your business. When working with a VA, digital business is the usual way things are done. Make sure your VA has sufficient security measures in place to keep your valuable information safe. Finance. Never give your VA your debit card for online transactions. Credit card charges can more often than not be easily reversed, however debit cards work slightly differently, resulting in issues being much harder to resolve. You understand how you like to get things done, you've perfected your work methods, and now you're looking at just handing it over to someone new. There are only so many hours in the day, and unless you want to spend the entirety of every day working, outsourcing is the most cost effective way to stay productive while freeing up your time to do other things. Many VA's will have their own systems and methods for working with their clients. Go over these methods carefully from the beginning, and verify that their habit of working fits in with your goals. If you are someone who likes to deal with your VA on the phone, and he or she prefers to deal with clients through email, then that VA is not the best match for you.
